Boston MA — We are excited to announce that entrepreneur and investor Doug Levin has joined the Mendoza Ventures Pre-seed fund II as an advisor and investor. Doug brings over 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, open source, and cutting edge technology that will be accessible to our current and future portfolio companies. Doug’s contribution to the Boston technology ecosystem is immeasurable, and his expertise is an asset to our early stage startups and founders.
Doug joins as part of a new cohort of talented individual investors and family offices that have joined as LP’s for Mendoza Ventures’ Pre-seed fund’s June close.

About Doug Levin
Doug Levin has over 30 years of successful experience as a business leader, technologist, and serial entrepreneur. As the founder and first CEO of Black Duck Software, he built a company that solved the challenges of safely using open source code in commercial products. (Black Duck was acquired bySynopsys in 2017.) Levin also founded or co-founded six other companies and he holds four software patents. He presently serves as COO for DJ MicroLaminates, an advanced materials manufacturer and as a Board member for the cybersecurity firm ReversingLabs. He is an Executive-in-Residence (EIR) at the Harvard Business School and mentor for the MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund. He serves as a senior advisor to Carbon Relay,Prescient Devices, Wabbi, ZyloTech and several other companies. Earlier in his career, Doug held senior management positions at Microsoft over a nine-year period. He has an advanced degree in International Economics from the Collège d’Europe in Bruges, Belgium and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
