RISE Financial Technologies secures $3.5M of fresh funding to accelerate the engineering and delivery of a capital market infrastructure solution for both tokenized and traditionally regulated assets.

A highly experienced team enables innovative networked business models for regulated financial institutions based on distributed ledger technology; a $2.5b global revenue opportunity to modernize dated legacy technologies and processes.

RISE Financial Technologies Ltd (“RISE”), the UK-based fintech powering the capital markets with integrated, operated, and governed tokenization platforms today announced it raised another venture capital round led by Boston-based Mendoza Ventures, an early-stage fintech fund and with Coparion, one of the largest early-stage venture funds in Germany.

RISE engineers and delivers enterprise software for more efficient and better-controlled processing of traditional and tokenised securities in the global capital markets. The software is operated by a network of regulated financial institutions, lowers barriers of market entry, optimizes their interaction models, mutualizes the cost of data management and cost of sales, and unlocks network effects that drive top-line revenue growth for institutions.

We streamline and unbundle the existing services required in the post-trade industry. Service providers of any size can join a network to compete fairly and realize network effects by offering their services in a dynamically rebundled way. The collective acts as a new trusted entity in the market that challenges incumbents not leveraging the network and held back by outdated and rigid service bundles and technologies.“ said Thorsten Peisl, CEO of RISE.

The team has gained traction with large institutions to support the development and operate its industry-compliant software in the initial target jurisdictions including the US and UK market; RISE is collaborating with and eager to bring in both niche service providers and large incumbents as part of the solution’s implementation.

Incumbents are awaking and taking deliberate steps to replace and extend their legacy platforms and infrastructure. Not least, regulators, associations, and standardization bodies are making updates to reinforce the trend towards tokenisation,” said Adrian Mendoza, General Partner at Mendoza Venture, who will be joining RISE’s board of directors. “RISE plays a key role in our portfolio to modernize the existing capital markets towards the future of tokenization”

RISE will use this funding to accelerate business and software development in Europe and the US with new hires in its London headquarters and an additional footprint in central Europe within the next twelve months.
